Dear
Friends of the Machaseh Children’s Ranch,
As
we have recently shared on Facebook and through our website, we have some GREAT news to report! Our prayer for house parents
has been answered! Mike and Maria
McNeill have been called to be the house parents for
our first ministry house. Mike and Maria have a wonderful background and seem to be a perfect fit for the house parent ministry.
We will have them introduce themselves and tell you about that background in a future prayer letter.
We are also pleased to report that the house is nearly complete. The septic tank has been installed
and a small group from Mississippi came to finish the drywall in the basement. The kitchen counter tops have been installed,
light fixtures have been hung, and the finishing touches are being applied. Our next hurdle to go through will be the
group home licensure process with the State of Wyoming. The Board of Directors met this month with a representative with the
Department of Family Services (DFS), who is in charge of certification. They informed us of a few things that will need to
be done, including: writing a policy manual, installing a security system, and obtaining the okay from the Health Department.
Please pray that we show the grace of God through the process of navigating the DFS regulations.
The past year has been great for Machaseh Children’s Ranch and we have been able to accomplish
a great deal through the help of our many supporters. Over 40 folks from Yellow Leaf Baptist Church in Mississippi came to
help with the house, fencing around the ranch, wood cutting, and VBS. Over Labor Day weekend, a group from the Denver area
helped to finish the deck and sew curtains for the house. Fred and Nate have been busy hanging doors, staining trim, and painting
the basement. We stand in awe that so many people have given their time and talents to developing the dream that will be Machaseh
Children’s Ranch!
We will have a Dedication Service for the opening of the new ministry home on April 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm. We plan
on having a prayer and praise time, followed by a fellowship meal. We invite all of you to attend, see the completed house,
and celebrate with us. Please let us know if you plan to attend.
